Saudi Premium Residency — the official pathways

Saudi Arabia's Premium Residency lets you live, work, own property, and run a business in the Kingdom. The programme has seven products, each with its own criteria, duration, and fee. Below is a faithful summary of the official booklet.

Premium Residency

Seven Premium Residency products

Each product is granted by the Premium Residency Center under its own eligibility criteria, duration, and government fee.

Special Talent Residency

For specialists in healthcare, science and research, and senior executives

One-time government fee

SAR 4,000

Eligibility

01
Healthcare and science professionals: a minimum monthly salary of SAR 35,000

Researchers: a minimum monthly salary of SAR 14,000
03
Executives: an executive-level contract with a total minimum monthly salary of SAR 80,000
04
A bachelor's degree or higher, with more than three years of experience in a priority specialisation
05
An endorsement letter from the employer

Duration

Five years on issuance, renewable for one further term. Permanent residency is available after 30 months of residence within five years while meeting the criteria.

A pathway to permanent residency once the conditions are met
The primary holder is exempt from the Nitaqat programme

Gifted Residency

For award-winning talent in culture and sport

One-time government fee

SAR 4,000

Eligibility

01
First category: nomination for, or receipt of, a recognised exceptional award approved by the Ministry of Culture or the Ministry of Sport

Second category: meeting the minimum eligibility criteria approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Sport
03
Meeting the minimum financial solvency requirement to cover the cost of living in the Kingdom
04
An endorsement from the Ministry of Culture or the Ministry of Sport, depending on your field

Duration

A fixed five-year term, renewable once after 30 months of residence within five years. Permanent residency is available on continuing to meet the criteria and securing the relevant ministry endorsement.

Investor Residency

For investors building an enterprise in the Kingdom

One-time government fee

Eligibility

Holding a valid investment licence

Providing a commercial registration and articles of incorporation

Investing at least SAR 7 million in economic activity in Saudi Arabia, in line with the Investment Law

Duration

Direct permanent residency, conditional on injecting SAR 7 million within the first two years and creating 10 jobs within the first two years.

Entrepreneur Residency

For founders backed by accredited investors

One-time government fee

SAR 4,000

Eligibility

01
First category: at least SAR 400,000 in investment from an accredited entity, with a shareholding of at least 20% in the start-up

Second category: at least SAR 15 million in investment from an accredited entity, with a shareholding of at least 10% in the start-up
03
Holding an entrepreneur licence from the Ministry of Investment
04
An endorsement letter from the investment entity

Duration

First category: a five-year term, renewable for one further term while meeting the criteria and residing for 30 months within five years. Second category: permanent residency directly, conditional on creating at least 10 jobs in the first year and 10 more in the second year.

Nominate two staff members for the Special Talent Residency
The entity is exempt from Nitaqat for its first three operating years
Second-category founders obtain permanent residency directly

Real Estate Owner Residency

For owners of developed residential property in the Kingdom

One-time government fee

SAR 4,000

Eligibility

Owning residential real estate worth at least SAR 4 million within Saudi Arabia

The property must be free of existing and future mortgages
03
Ownership or use must not be linked to real estate financing
04
The property must be residential and fully developed, not raw or unimproved land
05
The property must be appraised by valuers accredited with the Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (Taqeem)

Duration

Tied to ownership or usufruct of the qualifying property.

Limited Duration Residency

For a flexible, renewable annual residency

Eligibility
